I would really love to hear those new DRUM-PATCHES, but ....
I FTP'd them twice from the EPAS-submit-directory and both times, the
files was *totally* corrupted. Someone has put a note in the submit-
dir, that this file *is* corrupted.
I would therfore ask you (Chris ?) to upload this piece of software
again, so that we all can enjoy it
Thanks in advance,
SAM

I've seen several messages about GUSDBAS.ZIP and/or GRAVDBAS.ZIP (supposed to
contain a condensed form of the database Gravis have for registered users),
but I don't find these on the FTP sites. Could be I didn't look right, so if
they're there, can someone please point me at them? If not, can someone put
them there?
Thanks!

OK, I removed the labels from the disks...what kind of solvent do I use
to get the sticky residue off? I'm afraid it will bugger up my disk drive.
(Relax, it's a JOKE! I read the digest at 5:30AM after a VERY long weekend.)

While this may well be the standard (and I'm in no position to argue),
it does no harm to enable channels 11 to 16 as well as 1 to 10 for the
GUS, if you have a MIDI file that uses them. Of course the GUS will
play melodic rather than percussion on 16, so if that's a problem,
then you could re-map 16 to 10 using MIDI Mapper. Isn't there another
name (apart from base and extended) for devices like the GUS that play
on all channels, with percussion on 10?
I would think that canyon.mid (supplied with Windows) would be a
good file for experimentation, since it is designed to use
*either* 1 to 10 with perc. on 10, *or* 11 to 16 with perc. on 16,
so it might sound even better with all 16 enabled, but with 16 mapped
onto 10.
I think the consensus is that Recording Session occasionally misses out
parts for other reasons (which have not been determined - i.e. bugs).

Hi Gusers!
I really would love to hear anything realistic about new Gravis-Sound-
hardware. Concerning the GUS-MAX I can only repeat what John Smith
mentioned on this list some weeks ago. And this was that there will
*not* be a 'MORE-MEM' version of the GUS in the near future (sigh!)
If anyone knows anything 'bout this topic, I would appreciate seeing
the info on the list.

I just started playing Syndicate (mighty fun BTW) and I miss not having sound
with the game. SBOS doesn't seem to work with it :(. I know that using
the GUS with Syndicate was being discussed a few weeks ago. Could someone
please mail me (or post) a summary of how to makethe GUS work with this
game, if it is possible :).
Thanks...

Try cleaning out your system.ini file and re-installing the Windows stuff.
Edit system.ini and delete device=grvsultr.386 from the [386Enh] section,
and, from the [Drivers] section, delete wave=ultrasnd.drv,
midi=ultrasnd.drv, aux=ultrasnd.drv and midi1=ultmport.drv. Then cd
to /windows/system and delete the files grvsultr.386, ultrasnd.drv, and
ultmport.drv. After all that, re-install the Windows software.
Phat.
